Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline including celestial beings, demons, and dark forces increasing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of characters who will split off from the main group to begin their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes Teor (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death started the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The traitor then settled his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- Yet, their reputation as key figures in House Halovar could assist the team enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The fighter vowed a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:
- Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in search of Casimir.
Future Episodes
Based on episode three’s post-show segment, we find out that the combat party won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight cast members to round up the Seekers and Schemers parties.
Audiences can anticipate discovering which players will be in which group in the story’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on October 24.
